Stand in the Gap!
In the sermon “Stand in the Gap!”, we will explore the authority God has given us to overcome all power of the enemy. Luke 10:19 declares, “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” This divine power equips us to walk boldly in our faith, secure in our position with Christ. Ephesians 2:1-8 reminds us that though we were once dead in sin, God has made us alive in Christ, raising us up and seating us in heavenly places.
As children of the King, we inherit this authority through God’s covenant promises. Romans 8:16-17 assures us that we are heirs of God, while Hebrews 8:6 speaks to the better promises enacted through Christ. We abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1), and Jesus has restored our dominion over creation, empowering us to do even greater works (John 14:12).
Furthermore, we are assured of divine intervention in our lives. Isaiah 54:17 declares that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and Psalm 20:1 affirms that God hears us in times of trouble. Through God’s wisdom, protection, and power, we are equipped to stand in the gap for others, binding and loosing on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 18:18-20). Stand with confidence, knowing that the Creator of all is with you!
