How to Hear God’s Voice
This sermon, "How to Hear God’s Voice," will guide us through understanding how to recognize and respond to the voice of God in our daily lives. Drawing from John 10:3-4 and John 10:27, we’ll explore how Jesus, our Good Shepherd, calls each of us by name, and how His sheep know and follow His voice. This connection requires us to ask, seek, and knock, as Matthew 7:7-11 emphasizes, trusting that our Heavenly Father will answer us when we approach Him.
The first step in hearing God’s voice is to practice stillness, learning to quiet our hearts and minds as Habakkuk 2:1-2 shows us. By taking time to be alone with God, as Jesus did in Mark 1:35, we open ourselves to hearing His guidance. Next, we’ll discuss the importance of vision, focusing our hearts on Jesus. Hebrews 12:1-2 reminds us to look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, and Ephesians 1:18 encourages us to have our spiritual eyes enlightened to understand God’s hope and purpose.
Lastly, we’ll cover spontaneity, allowing the Holy Spirit to flow in us, guiding our thoughts and actions. Romans 12:2 calls us to be transformed by the renewal of our minds, and John 7:38 promises that rivers of living water will flow from those who believe in Jesus. Join us as we learn practical steps to tune our hearts to hear the voice of our loving Father.
